Birthday and Marathon

It's all happening in England this weekend. Friday was the Queen's 80th birthday, today is St George's Day (he's the patron saint of England, the equivalent of St Patrick's Day in Ireland) and today is also the London Marathon. The Queen's Birthday passed by with us barely noticing. Aside from a bunch of documentaries of her life on TV and a party at Toby's school, it was a non-event for us. The same with St George's Day. Now, the marathon... that's a different story.

The marathon starts right here in our 'hood so the village has been gearing up all week. The barracades and tents started going up last weekend and Toby has been getting very excited. He even asked if we could run in the race! Yea, that's not going to happen anytime soon. This morning J and Tobes went down to the heath to watch all the marathon madness. If you happen to be watching the coverage and see a cute little boy in bright red waterproofs dragging a tired looking Daddy behind him, that'll be Toby.
