... and he's on his way home. Most of the overground trains are back in service. They'll be quite overcrowded because the tubes are still shut but he'll be able to make his normal commute. God, the English are so resilient. If you're ever in a crisis you want a Brit by your side. The most unflappable people I've ever met. They're hoping to have the tube service restored by tomorrow morning or even late tonight, aside from the damaged lines of course. The feeling seems to be to just get on with normal life as soon as possible.
There still seems to be some concern that this isn't all over yet but, because J is in risk management, they have a number of terrorist experts in the office and they think that it's over now. The chance of more bombs today is very small. Very reassuring to hear since J is about to get on public transport.

Good God I'm glad you all are ok! It was so frustrating this morning after mom called me to tell me what happened. First, we don't have cable and only get one channel, Fox, the crappiest news channel ever. I was so appalled to see them running stories on on some dumb club on 6th st when they should have been talking more about London. We had NPR on, searching online, and the TV on mute for the 5 minutes or so they chose to talk about the bombings. For some reason, they weren't running it as a top story! Very frustrating!
i am amazed at how calmly this has been handled and how many people have just cleaved together and gotten through it. the sense of comraderie in my office has been amazing. hope j is home safe and sound. we are all here at home.
