We finally started potty training on Tuesday. I must say that Tobes has done very well. He had five accidents on Tuesday but he used his potty about a dozen times. As long as the successes outnumber the accidents I'm happy.
So Tobes did well, but I hated it. I've become so accustomed to having a little space during the day. Just some time to check my email, make some phone calls, maybe look at a magazine. With potty training I had to be vigilant and was totally at Toby's beck and call. No 'just a minute, baby'. If he said he needed his potty I had to drop everything and get there or suffer the consequences. It was a good reminder of what it'll be like having a new baby in the house again. Maybe I'll just stay pregnant a bit longer.
Now we're on Day 3 and it's not so bad. I keep an eye on the clock and remind Tobes every half hour or so but the ball is in his court. He's gotten much better at controlling himself just in the last three days. On Tuesday it seemed like he had to wee constantly but yesterday he waited a whole hour before going. I noticed he was holding his willy and doing the I-gotta-pee dance so I asked him to sit on his potty and he did 'a big wee wee, Mama'.
Today he's only used the potty once so far but I feel comfortable enough to update my blog, check my email and chill out a bit. Hopefully this success will continue!

it is amazing that "the clock says time to wee" and the toys say "time to wee" and even the nana says "time to wee" and it works!! good luck. just wait until he wants to dump the potty in the toilet all by himself and it is really full....have a towel handy!!! it does get easier, i promise! glad all is going well.
you get used to it - i promise. :) sounds like he's definitely ready and doing well.
