Correction
Just saw that the US government has decided to accept food and supplies offered by Europe and the shipments are going out now. I wonder why they waited so long.

be thankful you have all the wonderful things you have and the roof still over your head. i am sure we made mistakes, but the american people have bent over backwards to help the displaced citizens. and don't forget, the people without tv and radio had no idea of the widespread destruction and death, so they had no clue what was being mounted to come to their aide. have you cleaned your closets of clothes and linens and bought groceries for 42 people living in one house?
I'm very thankful for what we have and I'm sure the American people are doing all they can to help. I did clear out the closets this morning but the food that's being sent from here so far is all emergency rations. The thing that disgusts me is the reaction, or lack of it in the first few days, of the government and the President. I know it's not necessarily the national government's responsibility to sort this out but it is their responsibility to respond to the needs of its people and their response was shockingly slow.
after 911 the american flag was flown proudly and everywhere...i have noticed our flags are now at half staff but before that was decreed they were not flown at all from cars and windows. i think we americans ARE ashamed. continue to support your homeland and feel proud of what you and your family have personally done. hope, prayer, and clean closets make all of us better people.
