I never see the news. Our TV seems to constantly be on CBeebies or Boomerang so if you'd like the latest on Ms Hoolie and PC Plum's budding romance or the details of the latest Duck Dodgers episode, I'm your woman. Outside of that and life in our little bubble I don't know much. So it was a surprise this morning when J asked with some concern if I had spoken to Mom and Dad this week. I had no idea that a hurricane was coming their way.
After a bit of research and a look at Nikki's blog I've learned that Mom and Dad are evacuating this morning and moving North to my Aunt & Uncle's place. Jon and Dyllin are going up to Dallas to stay with friends. It all sounds very scary. I'm going to call Mom and Dad this morning (their time obviously) and just check in. According to weather.com this is a Category 5 hurricane which means it's a big one.

this is a HUGE storm. I asked liz this morning about your mom & dad. keep us posted. did you buy into the house with friends on the texas shore? bet it will be off the map by sat. how sad. this has been a terrible year for so many people. love the photos you have been posting. we will be with liz and andrew oct 1-9th. need anything from walmart? i have pudding packed!!!
This is the 3rd most intense hurricane EVER on record. Crazy. I have a feeling Galveston may not exist after this. But I think the family will be ok. I'm a little worried about the house though.
Thank goodness, never bought the house on the coast. The friends are still in Dallas so we never got around to it. Thanks for the offer of Walmart but Mom & Dad are coming at the end of October and have bought an extra suitcase just for our goodies! I love target.com and keep sending things to Mom to bring over.
