I have never been much of a collector. As much as I love books I never keep one that I won't read again and prefer to pass them on. It seems I've just never found the right thing to collect...
A few years ago I started collecting blue willow china. As I mentioned before my Aunt Jean collected it when I was little so it has fond memories as well as being a thing of beauty. It started with a teapot. Then a gravy boat. I could feel a delirium building so decided to confine myself to building up a tea set to start with and only buying pieces that I really love and nothing that was brand new. I was looking for little treasures. Two Wedgwood cups and saucers... a couple of 1890s serving plates... a Johnson Bros cream and sugar... some mismatched Burleigh side plates...a three tiered cake plate from Jason... Second hand shops and ebay are becoming my best friends.
I was surfing ebay tonight and found the sweetest jam jar with a lid and a Wedgwood cup and saucer that match the ones I already have. They also had a gorgeous tiny little pin jar but I'm not sure how that fits into a tea set. Let me think about it though.
